Two NYS Breast Cancer Network Leaders Honored by the EPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency)    Back to list

Karen Joy Miller, Laura Weinberg and Beth Fiteni, have received the 2010 U.S. EPA Environmental Quality Award.   This recognition represents the EPA’s highest honor awarded to the public sector. Karen and Laura represent Huntington Breast Cancer Coalition and Great Neck Breast Cancer Coalition respectively, two Board members of the NYS Breast Cancer Network, and both Karen and Laura have been leaders in the Network’s Environmental/Primary Prevention Committee for almost a decade. Beth represents the Neighborhood Network and all three of them have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to protecting and enhancing environmental quality and public health. These three amazing women are a powerful triptych, combining diverse and extensive backgrounds to promote environmental health through education and public policy advocacy.  They are pillars of perseverance and we congratulate them for this outstanding achievement.
